Weblog Entry

Hello,

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up,
I spent last week having issues with my bank going in circles.

I was forced to close my old account and open a new one today. I checked my bank statement hoping to see if everything cleared but honestly there were several items from 2 weeks ago that I couldn’t find…..

If anyone is still holding a check I have written PLEASE bring this to my attention and I will rewrite a new check under the new account.

Also, if anyone wrote me a check and an issue arises concerning it and cashing please bring this to my attention as well.

Thank You,

Susan.

Sorry guys, I was assured when I opened this account everything was fine and no problems would arise when I voiced my original concerns but clearly I was misinformed.

Market Open!

Good day to you fellow local food eaters!

We are promised a bit a respite from the cold this afternoon. Get out and starts a few seeds that you can bring inside when the cold returns. I am happy to see Swiss Chard peaking up through the earth . Wild Earth Gardens & Herbals has some rare Tomato seeds, ‘Indigo Rose’, an OSU creation. Very prolific low acid sweet fruits . And ‘Heirloom Seminole Pumpkins’. These are meaty pumpkins meant for good eating ! Rich deep pumpkin flavor.

Veggie starts will soon be here so start thinking about what you want in your garden.
We are lean on veggies right now! Gives our dairy and meat farmers an opportunity to shine!
Wild Earth Gardens & Herbals is offering Winter Collards so get yourself some.

It’s still a coffee cocoa type of morning so be sure to check out our Gourmet Mountain Roasted Coffee and Cocoa from Jumpin Goats Coffee Roasters just over the line in NE Georgia Mountains.

Enjoy the day and Eat Well!

Market is Open till Monday 4pm

Hello All,

I hope you all are doing well today.

Dang, I was about to give you all a little catch-up/fill-in but my son just came in from doing dishes showing me this long cut he got from grabbing a knife the wrong way…..

I have to go deal with this but please as always look around. Have fun and always, eat well.

Cold Months

http://carolinafoothills.locallygrown.net/market

Good morning folks ,

Brrr…..cold! Starting a fire and holding a warm cup of Southern Pecan from our mountain roaster ,‘Jumpin Goats Coffee Roasters ’.. Really really good. Robust with hints of pecan. Not artificially flavored ( of course)! Just a good cup of Joe! And to add my own kind of good I put in the Chocolate Brownie Cocoa also from Jumpin Goats Coffee Roasters. Let’s just say it’s like that really good mocha you paid too much for. Only you do it yourself! For way less!

As always I buy most of my food here! It just makes more sense to get food from my local farmers. I’m eating huge salads every night thanks to Leah Lake Farm! Lettuces are beautiful and tasty and the beets are so good! Thank you to this farm for providing this even through these cold spells! Quite impressive!

I visited Sylvan Falls Mill recently. Lovely Bed & Breakfast! If you haven’t tried their Breads, Muffins and lots of other baked goods do it now. They also offer *Stone milled Grits and Flours

I’m going to get back to sipping my Southern Pecan Mocha. Enjoy you day!

Remember you can order anytime day or night till Monday 4 pm. http://carolinafoothills.locallygrown.net/market

Eat Well,

MARKET IS OPEN!!!!!!

Hello all,

Well big things are afoot.

My husband and I have just gotten into buying storage units at auction and it became very clear rather quickly that I was going to need a place to start selling.

There is a place right down the road from my house that just began late last year called Red Rooster Jockey Lot.

I paid to have a room on the inside of the building and as a result now have a venue to also display for carolinafoothills also the people who who run the business will be giving Tony’s Pizza here in Liberty all of our info and they have agreed to hand out 8000 fliers for us.

I have high hopes that this will bring in both new customers and new vendors.

Take Care and as always be safe and eat well,

Susan.

Market is Open!

Hi all,

Sorry I’m late today. We lost the internet yesterday and just got it turned back on about an hour ago.

I have been using the time to get my son Trent caught up on 2 tests that were supposed to be completed by 4.

For those that don’t know, my kids attend a home based public school so losing the internet yesterday really messed us up.

Anyway, come on in and take a look around.

Eat Well,

Susan.
